What We Believe
Get to know us
We are a Bible-believing, Holy Spirit-led church. Here is what we believe in short form. If you want to know more, you can read our full statement of beliefs here
The Scriptures are inspired by God and declare His purpose and plan for man (II Timothy 3:16).
The one true God has revealed to man the “Trinity” of His being…God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit (II Corinthians 13:14).
Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, born of a virgin, who came to this earth and died for us on a cross, was raised to life, and is exalted to the right hand of the Father (Matthew 1:23, I Peter 2:22, I Corinthians 15:3-4, Philippians 2:9-11).
Man was created by God good and upright. However, after willfully choosing to break God’s command, a sinful nature and lost condition now exists for all man (Romans 3:23, 5:12-19).
God. the Son, Jesus Christ, born of the Virgin Mary, came to earth. He lived a sinless life becoming the sacrifice that enabled man to be restored to relationship with God the Father. Every person can now experience salvation by accepting Christ’s offer of forgiveness through faith and repentance (Romans 10:9-15).
Every believe is a candidate to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit for the purpose of empowering us to live out the Christian life and be witnesses. We believe that the gifts of the Spirit are still in operation today and that God still heals the sick and performs miracles. We believe that the initial, physical evidence of someone who is baptized in the Holy Spirit is speaking in other tongues (Acts 1:8, 2:1-4).
We believe that God has set His people apart to live holy and to overcome in life (Romans 12:1-2, Hebrews 12:14, I Peter 1:15-16).
We believe that water baptism is an outward expression of an inward work that Christ has done in a person’s life. We believe that baptism is for believers. We believe that Holy Communion is to be received by the church on a regular basis to remember and celebrate what Christ accomplished for us through the cross (Matthew 28:19, I Corinthians 11:26).
We believe that the church is made up of every believer in Christ. The church is the living body of Christ that is called to make disciples and be a powerful force that influences every part of society (Ephesians 1:22-23, Matthew 28:19-20).
We believe that divine healing was provided through the work of Calvary and that Jesus still heals the sick today (Isaiah 53:4-5, James 5:14-16).
We believe that Jesus will, one day, return to catch His church away to be with Him. We believe this is the blessed hope of the church (I Thessalonians 4:16-17, Titus 2:13).
Following the second coming of Christ, a final judgment will take place for those who have rejected Christ. They will be eternally separated from Christ in Hell (Revelation 20:11-15).
